STRONG OLD ALE

A malty strong ale with balanced hop additions:

10 lbs Light Malt Extract
8 oz Crystal 40L Malt
12 oz Munich Malt
2 oz Peated Malt
4 oz Fuggles or US Goldings Hops Total:
2 oz @ 60 minutes
1 oz @ 5 minute
1 oz @ 0 minute

2 tsp Gypsum 1 tsp Irish Moss, added at beginning of boil

1st choice: Wyeast 1728 Scottish Ale Yeast; 2nd choice Wyeast 1028 London Ale Yeast.  Dry option Nottingham

3/4 cup dextrose for bottle priming   

Starting Gravity:1.073-1.075    ABV: 8.4-8.7%    SRM:  9-12    IBU: 23-26
